Process flows, or user flows, capture steps, decisions, and entry and exit points. They’re often specific to the future state of the product, part of the definition for the interaction design for an application.

In some cases, screen references can be utilized to create a “wireflow”, a type of process flow that utilizes snapshots of screens to map the process to the product IA. These snapshots indicate the general type of screen (e.g. a list view) but do not typically include actual screen design.
