Ecosystem Map

An ecosystem map details the context in which the product lives or will live. Depending on the project, this may include people, organizations, systems, locations, and any other entity useful to understand the product environment.

In order for the design team to gain a better understanding of the client’s product, an ecosystem map is often created at the start of a project. These maps give everyone a visual representation of all the factors at play within the context of the product’s environment and how they all relate to one another.
