CmomGo iPhone app design

The guys at CmomGo had a couple ideas about which direction to take their new iPhone application. Fuzzy Math was brought in to help them choose a path and design the resulting app.

Personas

Through the creation of personas and with the help from the CmomGo team, we were able to narrow the focus of who we would be designing for.

Participatory design

Once we defined the end-user we were designing for, we still needed to filter the ideas into one go-to-market idea. To accomplish this, we invited a handful of people that matched the persona we created and asked them what they thought.

We were able to elicit their feedback about the various ideas and keep the ideas that resonated and drop the not-so-good ones.

Wireframes

Now armed with a single, solid idea of what the product should be we moved into designing the iPhone app. We spent some time iterating first over wireframes, and eventually a clickable prototype.

This iterative process left us with a prototype that everyone was happy with, as well as a tech spec that was able to be handed over to a developer to create the iPhone app.

Project overview

CmomGo had a couple ideas for a social media application designed to help busy moms organize their families' lives and extracurricular activities. The problem was that they had multiple good ideas, but not a single great one.

We started by first helping them define their users, and then performing participatory design sessions with users to ensure the decided upon idea matched their needs. Finally, we designed the web and iPhone user experience.
